After loads of messing around with these souls I have got a great build for a rift mage that makes levelling up a doddle.

The reason I play as a mage is that I love to cast spells and inflict pain but I also like to keep my distance and the ranged attacks from the mage are spot on for this. This rift leveling guide will show a perfect rift mage build.

The main soul to use is the necromancer. This is the soul of choice for the rift mage for several reasons. First there is the pet, this creature is an awesome companion because not only will it help you in battle but can also heal you as well. Then there are the abilities, such as the grave rot and necrosis, basically with this as your main you will be a killing machine.

The second soul for a perfect rift mage build is the warlock. I always use the plague bolt and leech life because these are two great abilities. Leech especially is a super powerful one that maintains your health while dishing out the damage.

The third soul is the dominator, I just love that name but it is also a great addition to your mage. The main skill here is the neural prod because this deals out massive damage.

The way I use points for these souls is as follows. Four to flesh rot and four to death ally. Then I put four points in the warlock souls lingering pain and only ever put any into the warlock if they are spare.

Since patch 3.2 Heirloom shoulders can be enchanted. Most other enchants that are performed by enchanters will have an item level requirement. Shoulder enchants, which instead have to be purchased, differ in that they have a player level requirement.

1H and 2H - melee DPS weapons

At the end of the first game, you managed to get yourself off the island. Now, at the start of Youda Survivor 2, you are living peacefully back home with your wife and newborn baby. When you get to the island, you find that the meteorites have caused a lot of devastation and changed the landscape in various parts of the island. What this means in game terms is that you now get to see different scenery depending on which part of the island you are in. And with different scenery comes different animals you can raise and different food you can make!

Another addition is your ability to choose to play as a male or female character. Not only does this affect the look of your character, it also affects your gameplay. Playing a male will give you better attack skills, food and hydration levels, while playing a female gives better defense, energy efficiency and weather resistance. This opens up a lot of replayability as your strategies change depending on which character you are playing.

The game increases in difficulty and complexity as you progress through the levels (and there are many, many levels in this game!) Each level has a set of goals you need to achieve, and these usually take the form of a specific amount of food you need to produce. Completing these goals will require you to wisely manage your little microcosm. In the early levels, you have watering holes that feed flamingoes. These flamingoes will lay eggs that will feed goats, which will then produce milk. However, the eggs can also be processed by a machine into fried eggs. Depending on your current goals, you will need to manage how many of the eggs should go to the goats and how many should be collected for processing. There are plenty of other foods that can be processed: milk can be processed into milk powder, which can in turn be made into cheese. This cheese can also be cooked with the fried eggs and turned into omelette!

However, producing food is the least of your worries. You will be constantly invaded by pirates, scorpions and other nasties. Fighting them off isn\'t too difficult, but it does take up some of your precious energy. Energy is very important; you need it to build food-processing machines, cast powerful weather-controlling rituals and fight off the bad guys. And you lose the level if you run out of energy.

Thankfully, gaining energy isn\'t too difficult. You have a potion-master who will gladly do up energy potions for you. Just put in any of the foodstuff you\'ve collected, wait a bit, and out comes an energy potion! The strength of the potion will depend on how far down the process chain its ingredients are. A raw egg won\'t give you much energy, but a nice omelette will. There are also special secret recipes that will give you huge boosts and bonuses if you put in the right mix of ingredients.

There\'s also a lot of other extras that make Youda Survivor 2 stand out amongst the other time management games. There\'s also a hydration level you need to monitor in addition to your energy levels. There are the obligatory upgrades that you get in between levels. These include the machines and equipment that you can buy as well as the clothing and gear that you earn as you hit certain milestones. In addition, the level progression isn\'t entirely linear. You will be presented with a few side paths that you can take instead of the main path. These will usually earn you neat rewards and achievements.

There are but three classes to choose from- warrior, mage and rogue. Characters are good but not as engaging and funny as in Dragon Age Origins. You get a few cameos from people you ran into from the first game as well as awakening but other than that the character interactions aren't as memorable as they were in the first.

Why farming in Cataclysm? Well, let's face it, it is the newest content from the game so you can expect to find a lot of gold opportunities. Not only that, but the high tier crafters constantly need ingredients from this expansion. So it is clear, in order to make gold with a class such as the Rogue, you need a good Cataclysm farming spot in World of Warcraft. And here it is:

The Orsis Ruins

You will find this spot in Uldum. To get there, simply teleport to Uldum at Ramkahen from your major city, Stormwind for Alliance and Orgrimmar for Horde. Once there, just head West and a little South and you will find it.

The mobs you will kill there are Scions of Al'Akir and Sweeping Winds. The loot you will be looking for is Volatile Air. The second type of mobs don't drop as much as the Scions, but they are good to avoid waiting.

I chose to farm air elementals because the fire ones are usually heavily camped. And this resource is still needed by crafters daily.

To make sure you get good results here, start using the spot at the minimum level of 83. It will be easy to kill them as a Rogue because they stand still a long time. So you can position yourself fairly easily. They are also spread out a lot so you won't be in danger of aggroing more than one at a time.

After around one hour of farming, depending on how fast you kill them, you can get around 30 Volatile Air. You will also make around 30 gold pieces from the trash loot and around 40 gold from the items that drop.

Selling tip:

To make the most of this Cataclysm gold farming spot, try to sell your loot during the week. The prices then are usually higher. The prices right now are pretty low during the weekend. But you will probably make around 500 gold anyway. Wait until the middle of the week and you can get around 800 gold for 30 pieces of Volatile Air.

This is the best place to farm gold in Cataclysm for a Rogue for two reasons. It is not camped most of the time and you can kill mobs one by one.

It is also very good to farm something that isn't too popular on your server. That way you can avoid competition since you won't want to sell the items you got for nothing and just waste time. So what we know so far? After the events in Mass Effect 2 where they created more questions than answers, we already knew that there would be a massive Reaper attack. And all the Galactic Alliance was getting prepared for that. Among the things that we didn't know was where they would strike first and if the Alliance would have a chance to defend themselves and strike back.

The trailer of Mass Effect 3 comes to answer some of those questions. So we know that the reapers will strike at Earth and they will almost wipe out the entire population. We know that Earth, humans, and their defenses are no match against the Reapers. We know that the Alliance or Serberus under the command of Shepard will strike back. But still those information create even more answers.

Was Earth the first planet they hit or it was the last one? Did the Alliance and the rest of the races survived or humans are the last race alive? Who is helping Shepard to strike back? Will he manage to succeed? Questions, questions and more questions. I hope Bioware will give us some more content very soon.

Making a Mass Effect 3 Review is way too early and difficult given all the known information available by the company. The only thing we have in our hands is only a game trailer. But on the other hand why not try.

What Did the Beta Teach us?

So here we are. first release of FFXIV already the community is filling with impressions, videos, reviews and information regarding the newest incarnation of out most beloved Final Fantasy series.

So what are the impressions? Let's start from the top.

First off, true to the Final Fantasy style, XIV has done everything it can to maintain it's individuality. It differs from XI at every possible opportunity from it's crafting to it's leveling, and even the looks and feel of the characters and mobs.

They say that the game is non-leveling, but this is not entirely true. Your progression is based on improvements over time, and your comprehension of skills is based around two tiers.

Your physical tier is your common trait. This is your base character level, and it increases through every action you do.

The second tier is you customization tier. These are your job skills, weapon specializations, spells, etc. It allows for a great deal of customization, and unlimited replayability. To get good with that sword will take more than just adding strength points... it will actually take upping a skill to use it right. The skill is upped by using the weapon, or activating your 'job' before a battle.

Customization skills are not just limited to weapons, however. This is also where you find your crafting and farming skills, as well as your health and mana bonuses. The options for customization truly are endless.

The leveling of these skills is done through tactical points. The more you use that sword, or craft that item, the better your character will get. Compare this, for all you older school players, to Runescape. The leveling system is markedly similar.

What this will mean, however, is that the game has high-grind potential as you catch a skill up later in the game. After all, you can't take on a level 50 boss with a weapon you've only skilled to level 1. Back to the starter areas you go.

In this case, however, tactical point increases have been buffed from Final Fantasy XI, making the grind much less daunting.

This leads use directly into the next focus: Combat.

Final Fantasy XIV fighting is done in real time... sort of. Participants have a stamina bar. When that stamina bar is full, the player can perform an action. Attack, cast, etc. How fast you recharge, and how hard you hit is determined by your weapon or spell skill level, as much as the myriad of other skills available within the game.

This, of course, is my proficencies are so important for the players. Pick up a bow and DON'T PUT IT DOWN until it's maxed out. Period. It'll be tempting to use that epic axe, but don't. Always always always have a weapon of choice, or you will find yourself a jack of all trades, master of none. Not a good place in a game this customizable. Note in the above video that the player has foregone weapons in favour of fists?

There is a reason for that, and reason is in the skills it has leveled.

If it seems complicated, it is. It will be very easy to find your character without the necessary skills, and grind out the tech points needed to catch up. To avoid this, tap into the knowledge of those who played the beta by checking out the bottom of this page.

Crafting

Possibly the most important part of any MMORPG, aside from the combat, is the crafting system it employs. We've already covered technical points and skills above so I'll forgo those. This system, however deserves a section of it's own because THIS is where you'll make you money. And, as we all know, money makes the world go around.

Crafting is best done by a class called Discipline of the Land. This class is able to locate and farm needed mats through their map, and possess an innate skill to make farming those mats easier. They also have the ability to increase the drop rates on certain mobs, making your trek through the crafting ranks that much easier. Personally, I'm expecting this to create a steady stream of alt characters, and for good reason.

This market is going to be huge.

To start crafting, choose a specialty. Armor, herbalism, weapons, it doesn't matter. Choose one to specialize in, and level it as fast as possible. The goal, as always, is to be able to craft your own, and everyone elses gear faster and at higher levels than your competitors.

There are those who were in the beta who already mastered this. They have compiled their knowledge, and are offering it here, in the first wave of strategy guides for FFXIV. This guide will get you caught up almost instantly, and makes things very simple. I would suggest checking out the site and, if you're planning on hitting up Final Fintasy XIV for any length of time, and get it in your possession.

The first true 3D handheld gaming system, the Nintendo 3DS, launched in its creator's home country, Japan, in February. Gamers in Britain and Europe will have to wait until launch there on March 25, 2011, followed a couple of days later in North America and finally, on March 31, in Australia.

Nintendo hasn't announced yet what languages, in addition to English and Japanese, the Nintendo 3DS will be available. Serious gamers have known for almost a year that 3D play, and specifically Nintendo's version, 3DS, is coming. We've had tantalizingly brief views at various gaming conventions such as CES in Las Vegas and E3 in Los Angeles as well as at press conferences.

The promise is with this new handheld, Nintendo is delivering game features never before seen or experienced by gamers (except for the lucky few in on the beta testing). News, reviews and even the rumours out there have gamers worldwide excited to get their hands on this new 3DS.

So, can it possibly live up to all the hype? And are you going to want one? At $249.99 in either United States or Canada, plus (on average) $40 per game, it won't be cheap. What makes this new handheld worth it?

Here are what I think are the five top reasons that you'll not just want one, but discover that you really don't want to live without your own Nintendo 3DS:

The Games - there are plenty of cool features to the handheld, but it really is all about the games, with more expected to be announced at launch time, or just after, so there will be plenty of choice. Plus, you won't be limited to just new games -- you can still play all your Nintendo DS and DSi games on the new 3DS (though they will be in 2D). If you have Game Boy and Game Boy Colour games, they'll also work on the 3DS, though they also won't be in 3D. Not ideal, but pretty good until Nintendo gets the new 3DS version of your favourite games out if they aren't among the initial releases post-launch.

Friend Codes - if you register and share your code with friends, you can look in on what they are playing now or join in your friend's game. In the past, Nintendo has been criticized for their friend code system, so now they've upgraded it. Now, you just have to register once and your friend list and their links are stored so you can keep up with their games, join in their games, or they can join in yours.

Street Pass - This means 3DS gets new stuff even when you aren't playing. Leave it in your bag and when you turn it on you can see all the new stuff you picked up from other players.

No more worries about running out of battery in the middle of a game -- You'll get around three to five hours of battery life. Then just drop in the recharging cradle and you can keep on playing.

3D movies - No details yet, but Nintendo has announced they have deals in place or about to be signed with Hollywood heavy hitters (Disney and Warner Bros. have been mentioned) to produce movies in 3D your will be able to watch on the Nintendo 3DS.

The world of warcraft Mage is in many ways the same as in many other games. Generally the Mage is strong on intelligence and wisdom but lacking in strength and stealth. The world of warcraft Mage fits this description, but the strong magic that the Mage uses certainly makes up for any other weaknesses.

As a Mage you should always avoid melee combat, the mage is just not designed for any form of hand to hand combat. Unfortunately the mage can not heal itself so it does need some protection, but the damage a Mage can do makes it well worth while.A Mage is a huge help in group play as it can create food and water, deal increadible damage to its foes and can
save lots of time since it can transport its group to capital cities from any place in an instance.

Lets look at some traits of the available Mage races:

The fact that the Mage class has no way to heal itself makes the draenei race a good race to consider for its Gift of the Naaru healing ability.

The troll race has the ability of regeneration which is not as good as the draeneis' Gift of the Naaru but is certainly beneficial.

The blood elf is a popular race for the Mage with its Arcane Torrent and Arcane Affinity. Some say the blood elf makes for the best Mage but thats a matter of opinion.

The gnomes ability to replenish mana with Expansive Mind is great for a Mage and they can get away from trouble using their Escape Artist talent.

Humans specialize in the sword and mace which can't be used by the Mage so they make for a fair Mage at best.

The forsaken race only helps the Mage when battling a priest or warlock and little else so I don't recomend them unless you really want a challenge.

When first starting out, with whatever kind of character you have, don't over complicate things. Learn the basics of your character and get a good understanding of your characters skill's and abilities. Do your best to only stay in combat for short periods of time.

Fight from a distance in the beginning using spells and long range weapons. This doesn't mean you should just stay clear and waste time. Pay close attention to questing and be sure to do every quest you can get your hands on. If you think you have completed all the quests in your present area check again to be sure.

It has been said that the Mage is the easiest character class to level up but it all depends on how well you know your character. True the Mage is very frail and can't handle much damage but the Mage starts off with Fireball which is a very good range attack. To make leveling your Mage easier be sure to use the Frost Armor self buff to increase your defenses. These two abilities make the Mage very formidable even at lower levels, especially when in a group.

Within the face of Garrosh's aggression, the human king, and leader of the Alliance, King Varian Wrynn, has backed himself with his personal strengths, storming the Southern Barrens after the cataclysm had struck, and sacking a village of Tauren, and making a base of operations in the northernmost foothills to cut off contact with the Southern Barrens' neighbouring province, the Stonetalon Mountains.

Environmental redesign: One of many primary options of Cataclysm is the redesign of the Japanese Kingdoms and Kalimdor areas launched with the launch of World of Warcraft in 2004; while the previous recreation design did not enable for the usage of flying mounts in 'outdated-world' areas, those areas have been utterly redesigned with flight in mind for Cataclysm. Major modifications are being introduced to these zones. Every faction could have a smoother leveling process, as all old quests are scrapped and changed with new ones that can incorporate up to date gameplay and mechanics which were modified or redesigned since the game's release.

Every zone may even have its personal storyline, by way of a collection of quests, intended to maintain the participant fascinated with doing the quests and exploring each zone. Each of the zones which are faction particular, nevertheless, will cater only to those of the faction that controls that zone. Neutral, or 'contested' zones, will function a PvP (Participant-Versus-Player) based quest line, making the player compete in opposition to the opposing faction (Horde towards Alliance, and vice versa) to achieve the desired purpose of their faction. The Quirky Personality of "Plants vs. Zombies"

The tower defense genre is perhaps one of the oldest and, at its core, most simplistic of game types. A sub-genre of the strategy games field, tower defense games require the player to use limited resources to secure a given location from repeating waves of attack. The Square-Enix and Namco collaboration "Crystal Defenders" is an example and part of the core gameplay of "Defense of the Ancients" was derived from tower defense. However, few games are used as the showcase example more than last year's breakout hit, "Plants vs. Zombies."

What this title brings to the genre that wasn't there before is sparse. The core of the gameplay is the same and, in many ways, the options and resources available should be familiar to veterans of the tower defense archetype in function. However, that doesn't mean the game refuses to break from the traditional mold of its genre. It has removed mazes and juggling, two common features to most games of this type, due to their perceived complexity. "Plants vs. Zombies" also adds customization options at certain points, which has the remarkable effect of increasing the number of options that a player has available without actually increasing the things he can deploy.

It seems that a good combination of simplicity and strategy was involved in the creation of the game, to good results. The gameplay is simplistic - grow a plant, place the plant in the zombie hordes' way, rinse and repeat. The various pieces that can be placed are either commonplace for the genre for what they do or are modifications and twists of them. However, the number of options available and the "cutesy" coating of the plants add a touch of something to them that can't quite be defined. There's a definite saccharine quality to the design, but also a grittiness to it that is remarkably satisfying when a common pea-shooting pea plant (there's a certain amount of poetry to that notion) takes down one of the brain-eating undead swarm.

The design of the plants can make people assume they're a large part of the appeal. That assumption would be largely correct. Each of the plants has its own particular "personality," shown by their design. That steely, adamant gaze of the Tall-nut plant and how it cries is a commonly cited example of this. Then there is the subtle humor of the Squash and its function - it is used as a blunt instrument, "squashing" zombies. The humor and personality of the game is a good addition.

"Plants vs. Zombies" is clearly a game designed for casual gamers, like most of the tower defense archetype. Yes, it has a lot more options, but more hardcore strategy players will want their hands on titles like "StarCraft II" or something. While the zombies are still zombies, their design leaves them just as "cutesy" as the plants, which is liable to turn off the people who like their undead horrifying, twisted mockeries of the living. In simple terms, the game isn't going to appeal to everyone - then again, since when has any game been able to appeal to everyone?

Treat every test the same and you will get there.

• And the most important thing you need to know? You need your own console to play! Easy! Just remember though, you shouldn't limit yourself to one console. However, when you begin, stick to one before moving on to others.
