How To Fly An F-16 Flight Simulator On Your Pc Or Mac In 2011

By: John D Wilson

Well chances are that you wont be able to pilot an F-16 or more than likely ever even sit in one. But there is another way.

By choosing a good flight simulator you can get really close to what it's really like.

You can be inside the F-16 cockpit, have all the controls just like the real thing in front of you plus all the instruments, which all mostly work. You will have the magnificent sound that it makes and have a sensation of the speed. You will be able to fly it at 2000 kph close to the ground, or, far enough up that you will see terrain and scenery that you have never seen before.

Yes, a good flight simulator will give you all this and more. Not only will you be able to choose an F-16 to fly in but up to another 120 plus aircraft, from a the 1907 Wright Brothers craft, through to World War Two combat craft such as a Spitfire, through to modern aircraft like Boeing 747's, Airbus A380's, Cessna Citations, or, the most modern military combat craft and even helicopters - that you can choose to land and take off from aircraft carriers.

The latest flight simulators for 2011 also give you the ability to choose from over 20,000 airports throughout the world. You can choose day or night flying and the scenery is in incredible 3D and as it uses Google mapping it's all in real time. Talking about real time so too is the weather. So, if it's raining in your destination of Florida on your approach to land - it really will be raining there.

Chooses are almost infinite in a good flight simulator game, you can chart your course just as a real pilot would and you can dial in changeable weather - so if you would like to test your skills in a decent turbulent storm, it's all there for you.

The great thing is about a good flight sim is that they are not expensive. Less then $50.00 will give you a great one to download, or, if you've got a slow download then good companies will send you a DVD set instead. Unbelievably they will usually include free updates for life at this price, so, that's it, no annual fees or anything else, just a one off payment and you're done. Also, don't think that's the end of the development, these guys employ a team of enthusiastic developers who are always creating great new features for their software and games so when they mean free upgrades will that's just what you'll get for life - all their latest developments for free forever.

I should point out though that learning to be a PC pilot or rather a perfect one does take time and practice so be prepared to have to sit through a few hours of training and learning your controls before you take off and my advise here is to start off in something like a Cessna just as you would at flight training school to learn the ropes.

We've got a review site here you could click on if you want to learn a little more. Good Flying.
